Is It A Whale or A Shark?| SBC Week 9

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another SBC. Now, I’m going to be talking about the one and only whale shark! Usually, for my free post, I’ll write about animals. First, it was elephants, polar bears, and now WHALE SHARKS!! Let’s start.

A whale shark is not a shark nor a whale but has a lot of common with whales though. They are actually the largest known fish in the world. Whale Sharks can grow up to 40 feet, but they usually grow around 32 feet, about the size of a school bus. They look like a big grey oval-shaped pancake (to me), but they have these whiskers-like, sensory organ thing that comes out of their nostrils. Whale Sharks also have a unique pattern just like humans and fingerprints.

Whale sharks are usually solitary creatures, but they aren’t shy when it comes to food. Juvenile whale sharks are seen feasting in the Red Sea. Whale sharks are studied as much as other sea animals, so not a lot is known about them such as socialization. Most of them are found in all of the tropical seas.

When they are hunting, they don’t attack their prey, such gentle creatures. It’s complicated how they eat, but basically, “They open their mouths, let water come in and their bodies filter out food, and release the water and any debris back into the ocean.” via Live Science. They mostly eat plankton, and occasionally eat shrimp, algae, and other marine life. Whale sharks could eat a human, but they wouldn’t do it on purpose. You were probably mistaken as a giant squid. With 30,000 tiny teeth, they use none for actual eating.

I’m giving you a mini challenge:

  1. Answer this question; Imagine what it would be like if you had a pet whale shark. What would you do with it? What’s its name? Where would it live?
  2. Comment back on my post with the words “Challenge Completed” and a link to your post.

Hope you enjoyed this post! I enjoyed researching about whale sharks. I hope you do my challenge! Bai!💜

*sigh* It’s That Time Again| Weekly Post #33

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another Weekly Post. I’m behind on my Weekly Post, sorry ’bout that. AAANNNYYYWWWAAAYYY, it’s that time again where a man who loves cookies and has a big fluffy beard comes into your house to deliver a rock or presents. Now, there are many things I love about Christmas time like playing in the snow, building a snowman, and making snow angels, but WE DON’T GET THAT IN HAWAII. During this time of the year, everyone thinks it’s hot and humid, but you’d be wrong. It’s cold, I’m using 50 blankets because it’s so cold. The sun goes down at like 5:00.

Sun, if you are reading this, I know you are tired ’cause I’m tired too, but I don’t go down at 5:00! I go to bed about 9:00, so please stay.

Anyway, Christmas is just sometimes annoying, not being a hater or anything, but the songs are just on replay. *sigh* and I have to go Christmas shopping for my friends and that’s gonna be crazy. If you went Black Friday shopping, you are brave.

Well, Happy Holidays Everyone! This is my 2nd Christmas on Edublgos, so yay! I’ll see you guys later. Bai!💜
